New Range Rover Sport spotted in London
Spotted in London at what we believe could well be outside a Land Rover conference (although our spies were too busy taking photos to confirm this information), the new Range Rover Sport is a stylish looking model.
While it’s no longer in camouflage form, this second generation model isn’t currently out yet, although it is available to order in the UK ahead of first deliveries set to commence later in the year around September.
The Range Rover Sport made its official debut earlier in the year at the New York Motor Show, as well as being given a special launch when James Bond himself Daniel Craig drove it through the streets of Manhattan.
Surely, that’s just showing off?
The new Range Rover Sport benefits from being 800lbs lighter than its predecessor thanks to its all-aluminium bodywork and has been billed as the ‘fastest, most agile and responsive Land Rover ever’.
There is a choice of two engines for buyers to pick from at the start – 503bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol and a 288bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel – and in terms of pricing, the Range Rover Sport starts from £51,500.
Land Rover Global Brand Director John Edwards said: “The All-New Range Rover Sport is a vehicle that has been designed and engineered without compromise. With Land Rover capability at its heart, it is one of the most road focussed vehicles we’ve ever produced, but of course still offers unsurpassed all-terrain capability.”
It’s just a shame that we weren’t able to give the Range Rover a test drive at the same time!
