The Oldest Car We’ve Ever Financed
We’ve been having quite a nice late summer at the moment here in the UK, and what better way to enjoy the sunny weather, Autumnal colours and late summer breeze than in a classic British open top car.
That’s certainly what one of our customers thought, and when he found this beauty online he got in touch with us to see if we could help him out with finance.
This 1921 Talbot Darracq is a pretty impressive example of a well-preserved classic, perfect for driving down a country lane on a sunny day. Talbot was a marque from 1903 until the 1990s, and started producing domestically designed cars in 1906 in London. They had something of a reputation for speed, with the first car to cover 100mph in 1913 and a strong racing pedigree.
Obviously a motor like this needs to be cared for, maintained and loved to stay on the road for over 80 years, but thankfully there are enough enthusiasts out there keeping the spirit, and cars like this, alive.
Buying a car like this on finance can be trickier than buying a run of the mill Ford Fiesta, as some lenders do have restrictions on the age of the vehicle. We work with a really large panel of finance companies, though, so that we can cover as many circumstances as possible. This means that we’ll do our best to find a solution for most people – no matter how unusual the request!
Advisor Ian Whitwham had great fun helping our customer secure this beautiful piece of history, and Car Loan 4U are proud to have been involved in the legacy of this classic car. We hope she and her owner have many happy years together! In the words of Toad of Toad Hall...”Poop poop!”
