You may see advertisements which “guarantee finance” however the truth is no company can guarantee that you will be accepted. Every lender has their own criteria and will take into consideration your individual circumstances.

If you’re worried about being declined then please read through the information below – remember we work with a wide range of lenders, some of which offer solutions for people who’ve experienced money problems in the past.

Who we can help

There are many causes of “bad credit” so our car buying experts will always look at your individual circumstance when you apply.

  • Missed payments, defaults or arrears – Many of our customers have struggled with debt in the past, so don’t feel put off applying to us. A bad or poor credit rating is often caused by falling behind with repayments. We’ve carefully selected the lenders we work with to include ones who are happy to consider applicants in this situation and we’ll always try to find you a car finance deal that is right for you.
  • Bankruptcy- If you have been discharged from bankruptcy for a clear 12 months then we’re happy to consider your application.
  • CCJs – We regularly help people who have County Court Judgement (CCJs). As long as they’re over 4 weeks old we’ll consider your application and have lenders who may be able to provide you with car finance.
  • IVAs – If you’ve been under an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) in the past and it’s now settled, we are happy to consider your application. If you have an IVA at the moment we might need written confirmation from your insolvency practitioner that you’re allowed to borrow again. If you wish to apply it might be worth asking your IVA company first.

Does applying affect my credit rating?

When you first apply, your car buying expert will do a ‘soft search’ on your credit history, which is not visible to other lenders. If it’s obvious that we can’t help you, we won’t pass your application to a lender, and your credit profile won’t be affected. If we believe that you might be accepted by one of our lenders, we’ll pass your application to the lender we believe best suits your circumstances. They’ll then do a recorded (hard) search. On average two recorded searches are likely to be done during the process.
