Best of British on show with the Rolls-Royce Wraith
The Geneva Motor Show was full of world premieres for new car models and it’s safe to say that the Rolls-Royce Wraith was one that certainly caught plenty of attention.
The LaFerrari, Lamborghini Veneno and the McLaren P1 were probably the three most popular cars, or supercars shall we say, present at the show, but was no doubt that the Wraith was a big deal.
As we wrap up our coverage of the Geneva Motor Show, there’s no better car to end on than the Wraith; another highlight for British car manufacturers.
It’s also the most powerful model that Rolls-Royce has ever made throughout their 108 year history and here’s why!
The two-door coupé Wraith produces 624bhp from its 6.60-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, which helps it go from 0 to 60mph in 4.4 seconds.
Its eight-speed automatic gearbox is also connected to the Wraith’s sat-nav system, which allows it to read the road ahead and select the most appropriate gear.
It is expected to be priced at around £220,000 when it goes on sale at the end of the year.
Car Loan 4U Editorial Manager David Sargant said: “According to Giles Taylor, the director of design at Rolls Royce, the new Wraith Coupe is all about ‘the art of travel’.
“I kind of see where he is coming from. The interior is beautifully painted like you would expect from a top artist and it’s evident that the cabin really has been through a creative process, rather than a more mechanical design phase.
“Even the body has been given the artistic look with its eye catching two tone paint work, which made it really stand out at the Geneva Motor Show.”
