Cristiano Ronaldo and his flashy car collection

Cristiano Ronaldo and his flashy car collection

As one of the best footballers on the planet, the stereotypes are pretty predictable for the sort of car that someone of the stature of Cristiano Ronaldo would drive.

Yet to work out the exact model that Ronaldo is driving, you’d have to be pretty quick, as it seems he changes cars as often as he scores goals. Okay, perhaps not quite that often, but it does seem the Portuguese superstar is an avid car buyer.

Ronaldo’s vast car collection reads like a best of the best, including an Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari 599 GTO, Lamborghini Aventador L- 700-4 and Rolls-Royce Phantom. You certainly get the picture here.

We really would be here for quite a while if he attempted to name every car that Ronaldo has got his hands on over the years, so we’ll focus on one of the more current models that he’s been spotted driving – a Bugatti Veyron.

As a lover of desirable motors, the Veyron has plenty of features that would appeal to Ronaldo, and it’s certainly an understatement to say that this is a fast supercar.

The Veyron is one of the fastest road legal cars in the world, with the capacity to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 253mph. Speed is just as important when it comes to the football pitch and while Ronaldo isn’t quite that quick, he’s certainly one of the fastest footballers today.

You won’t get close to doing 253mph on the UK motorways, but this just highlights that the Veyron is a model focused on speed, powered by a 987bhp W16 petrol engine.

And here’s a little history lesson added into the mix. The Super Sport version of the Veyron can officially lay claim to being the world’s fastest production car, a title it was awarded back in 2010 when test driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel clocked 268mph. There was some controversy when the Veyron was actually stripped of the title in 2013 amidst claims the production version should have a limited speed, but the record was shortly reinstated in Bugatti’s favour.

In fact, the Bugatti Veyron can also add another accolade to its name after being named by Top Gear as the ‘greatest car of the past 20 years’. We’re sure Ronaldo would be in agreement.

Naturally, when it comes to price it’s going to be a lot, and it’s reported that it’s the most expensive car that Ronaldo bought at $1.7 million. The only thing that seems less predictable is putting some guesswork into what sort of cars Ronaldo will be adding to his collection in the near future!
