Although it doesn’t always seem like it, summer is upon us. And whilst the weather isn’t always ideal for sitting outside and having a BBQ, there are some fantastic places in the UK that are worth a drive to. From the North-East, to the South Coast, check out our top summer drive destinations.
Bamburgh Castle – Northumberland
Just off the A1, and right up on the North-East coast, this stunning area is well worth a visit. With beautiful views on a clear day and a spectacular sunset to go with it, this is a perfect spot for anyone looking to get away for a long weekend. With a variety of quaint cottages and hotels, including the Lindisfarne Cottages, there is plenty reasons to take a trip up north.
The Eden Project – Cornwall
There’s absolutely loads to do down in this unique part of the country, with a mixture of social and environmental projects as well as live music and festivals, it’s a great place for young, old and the in-between to learn and chill out, all at the same time.

If you’re after greenery and views, then the Lakes might just be for you. One of the biggest National Parks in the UK and conveniently off the M6, there is somewhere for everyone in the Lake District. Once you have completed the picturesque drive, this is the ideal place for walks, cycling or just sitting in a nice rural pub.
One of the most charming parts of the UK, boasting the world famous Cambridge University, this picturesque town is just north of London, allowing you to get the best of both worlds. A relaxing break in the cultural city of Cambridge or if you fancy a night out in the capital, London is a short drive/train ride away.

A quiet region of the UK, but one that has some unrivalled scenery, this is a perfect place to get a dose of culture, nature and history all in one trip. With a delightful coastline, this is an ideal beautiful spot for enjoying the road, taking in the breath-taking views, whilst on your way to little market towns such as Malton and Pickering.
