Car Loan 4U joins force with Barclays Partner Finance to raise £14,000 for PWSA
Car Loan 4U, the number one online car finance specialist based in Macclesfield, has joined forces with Barclays Partner Finance, part of Barclays Bank PLC, to raise almost £14,000 for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK (PWSA UK).
Car Loan 4U signed up to Barclays Partner Finance’s Drive for Good campaign to raise money for PWSA UK; the only organisation in the UK that is dedicated solely to supporting people with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Based on the number of customers Car Loan 4U referred to Barclays Partner Finance during the months of October and November 2014,a donation of £13,800 has been raised.
PWSA UK has been operating for over 30 years and helps not only people with the syndrome but their families and carers. Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disorder affecting one in 20,000 people, from birth. Those living with PWS may present some challenging and emotional behaviours and unusual medical issues. The name of the syndrome is derived from the names of two of the doctors who first described the pattern of characteristics associated with PWS in 1956.
James Wilkinson, CEO of Car Loan 4U, said: “I am thrilled we have been able to raise such a lot of money, in such a short period. My son, Jimmy, has Prader-Willi Syndrome and the charity has been an invaluable support to us over the years, so it is a cause very close to my heart.”
Susan Passmore, CEO of PWSA UK said, “We are incredibly grateful to both Car Loans 4U and to Barclays Partner Finance for this absolutely fantastic support. We are a small charity entirely reliant on voluntary contributions and we struggle to raise sufficient funds each year. A donation like this will help us to continue supporting our PWS Family in times of crisis and to provide the information they so desperately need. This will make a huge difference to our families throughout the UK.”
