Car Loan 4U scoop title at British Excellence in Sales & Marketing Awards

Car Loan 4U has been honoured with the coveted “Sales Development Programme of the Year Award” at this year’s British Excellence in Sales & Marketing Awards, (BESMA).

The BESMAs, organised by the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management is a national awards programme to celebrate the great work taking place within the UK sales industry.

Meanwhile, the Macclesfield-based company is also shortlisted for “Car Finance Provider of the Year”, “Consumer Credit Team of the Year” and “Consumer Collector of the Year” at the Credit Today Awards.

To win at the BESMAs, Car Loan 4U fought off tough competition from the likes of Virgin Media, Lyreco and Crest Nicholson, amongst others.

The BESMA judging panel concluded, “The Car Loan 4U team has developed a comprehensive sales programme that considers recruitment, development, coaching, engagement and recognition. The emphasis on creating a culture of inclusivity and high performing behaviours shines throughout”.

Key to the judges’ decision was company culture and Car Loan 4U’s focus on recruiting for attitude and then developing an individual’s skills when in-role. In the last 12 months, Car Loan 4U has recruited 50 new staff into the sales force and developed a rigorous onboarding programme. This ensures new recruits get to learn about both the company and the sales programme quickly.

The judges also praised Car Loan 4 U’s outstanding results which, as a result of staffing restructures and the automation of certain practices, has improved conversion by 32% in the last year.

Tom Horton, Sales Director at Car Loan 4U commented on the win, “To be recognised by the Institute is a great honour for the team and we are incredibly proud of our achievement.”

“We work very hard on getting the right people into the business and making sure they are given every opportunity to excel once they are here. We have been able to promote 12 people within the department in the last year and have also maintained an incredible record for staff turnover at less than five per cent; a remarkable figure for the sales industry.”

Other winners on the night included O2, AXA Insurance and Yell. Meanwhile, the winners of the Credit Today awards will be announced in May at an award ceremony in London.
