Zuto reach £30,000 fundraising milestone for rare disease charity

Zuto reach £30,000 fundraising milestone for rare disease charity
Zuto CEO, James Wilkinson, (right) presents the company’s latest fundraising instalment to representatives (centre & left) from the PWSA charity.

Car finance expert, Zuto, has reached a massive fundraising milestone of £30,000.

The money, which has been raised over three years by the Macclesfield and Manchester-based company, has been donated to PWSA UK. This is the only organisation in the UK that is dedicated solely to supporting people with Prader-Willi Syndrome; a rare disease which leaves individuals with a daily battle of an untreatable, insatiable hunger which is sometimes coupled with physical and learning disabilities.

This fundraising milestone was finally reached following a recent initiative in partnership with Barclays Partner Finance and the, ‘Drive for Good’ scheme. This scheme sees Barclays Partner Finance work with commercial partners, like Zuto, to donate a small amount to charity for every transaction procured via their partner. The activity helped raise £2,770 based on the number of cars that Zuto helped to finance through Barclays during October and November 2015.

Zuto is committed to working closely with PWSA and dedicated staff have raised the tens of thousands of pounds through a variety of charity initiatives including bake sales, a charity calendar and sports days, as well as the ‘Drive for Good’ scheme.

James Wilkinson, CEO of Zuto, said: "“Zuto has managed to build a fantastic relationship with the PWSA as well as Barclays Partner Finance. It’s humbling to see a commercial connection working hard to achieve vital funds for such a worthwhile cause and we’re thrilled to have smashed the £30,000 marker.”

Karen Wilkinson, Fundraiser at PWSA UK said: “It has been fantastic working with Zuto they have supported us in so many ways not just financially but with ICT, our Annual Report presentation, raising awareness and also by providing us with prizes for our young Owl readers. We are looking forward to another year working with the team at Zuto.”

Paul Dempsey, of Barclays Partner Finance said: “We were very pleased to see that our Drive for Good campaign was able to support Zuto to raise more funds for such a worthwhile cause as the PWSA. Their support of a local charity is a great example of the industry giving back to the community in which they live and is exactly what our initiative set out to achieve.”
